User dashboard / top control bar revamp

Reported by: ageller Assigned to:
Priority: highest Milestone: 1.1.1
Keywords: Cc: justin

Description (Last modified by jjb)

Adam suggests moving the dropdown as shown in the screenshot.

Something else to consider is where to place the "create new blog" link. I am thinking the user's profile.

What other "meta" functionality can go into the profile?

Should we rename profile?

Should tabs be involved?

also...

  1. Is it more in flow with other elements in top banner to put that drop-down list on the right side? All the other things that a user needs to "touch" are on the right.
  2. If there is only one blog, then that blog should autoselect. It is really uncomfortable for a one-blog user to have to select the one blog from the drop down to get to the blog after log-in. Or, if it is only one blog, just display a link to the blog instead of the dropdown?
  3. Is there any way to combine this back into the standard blue bar that currently displays the blog name? This may fit if the dropdown were on the right.
