install error - can't see wp-content/blogs to make it writeable

Reported by: lyceum Assigned to:
Priority: normal Milestone: 1.1.1
Keywords: installation Cc: mccuej@parklandsd.org

Description

I intalled the directories and connected to the database. The next screen that appears is "must be writable by the webserver". It doesn't tell me what file/directory is not writeble but since I can't find the file wp-content/blogs, I am guessing that is what is causing the error. I downloaded a fresh copy of lyceum and started over but still get the same error. I am using version lyceum-0.34. Where can I find this file. I am sure I have all the permissions set correctly but still get this error. Thanks.

I have seen this as well, on a vanilla RHEL installation. Nothing I did could fix the problem. When I turned off the permissions checking completely, the installation went through.

Very strange. If anyone has any ideas, chime in.
